Inspiration & Motivation

Akangsha’s work is shaped by her ongoing curiosity about the natural world, especially the sea and the emotions it evokes. She aims to capture the quieter moments in life, the ones that often pass unnoticed yet linger in memory. She sees painting as a way to slow down, observe, and create something lasting from fleeting moments. While art started as a personal outlet, it’s grown into a practice she hopes others can connect with. Through her Instagram, she shares both finished pieces and behind-the-scenes glimpses of her process, offering a realistic view of building a creative practice over time.

Akangsha's Journey

My journey as an artist began with a simple love for painting—one that slowly grew into something much bigger. Read on to see how it all started and where it’s led me.

2005-2015

The Hobbyist

Her interest in art began with sketching using pencils and black ink. Gradually, oil pastels became her favorite medium to work with.

Painting classes soon followed. She also started taking part in various art competitions.

2015-2020

The Student

She enrolled herself into an architecture college and found herself doing multiple sketches related to architecture.

She also tried her hand at oil painting and since then she knew there was no going back!

The Professional

After college, she started by taking on commissions and selling her paintings to friends, which led to the launch of 'Akangsha's Palette' on Instagram. Soon after, she opened an Etsy shop to offer her paintings.

Fast forward five years, she now sell both original art and prints through her own website. She also teaches through her online beginner oil painting course, where she guides students through the fundamentals of working with oils.
